Heat Pump Association Launches Free Membership for MCS certified Heat Pump Installers

The Heat Pump Association (HPA) is delighted to announce it will now be offering free membership for MCS certified heat pump installers. This initiative is designed to strengthen the voice of installers and their representation within the HPA, provide valuable industry insights, and encourage greater collaboration across the heat pump sector.

With just under 100,000 heat pumps sold in 2024, and over 2,000 certified MCS heat pump installation businesses, the HPA recognises the critical role installers will play in accelerating the transition to low-carbon heating and is committed to supporting them with support, knowledge, and effective representation.

Key Benefits include:

  • Access to the HPA Installer LinkedIn Group: A dedicated space for installers to receive updates, share feedback, and engage with peers and the HPA team.
  • HPA Fortnightly Update Newsletter: A regular digest of HPA activity, policy developments across the UK, upcoming events, and government consultations.
  • Exclusive Access to Industry Statistics: Including monthly Boiler Upgrade Scheme data, quarterly training figures, government grant statistics, and key market indicators.
  • Influencing Policy Development: Installers can review and contribute to HPA’s draft responses to government consultations, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Virtual Installer Drop-in Meetings: Open forums led by the HPA to discuss challenges, share insights, and shape the future of the industry.
  • Installer Representative: Installer members are represented at HPA and external stakeholder meetings by an elected Installer Representative, who helps reflect the views and interests of the installer community. Members can vote and stand in elections held every two years.

Charlotte Lee, Chief Executive of the Heat Pump Association, said:

“We recognise that installers are the backbone of the heat pump sector and will be critical in the transition to low carbon heating in the UK. This new free membership option ensures they have enhanced support and have their voices amplified at no cost. By offering free membership to MCS certified businesses, we’re removing barriers and engaging more participants as we work to  simplify and enhance the path to decarbonised heating.”

Ian Rippin, CEO at MCS, said: “This partnership with the Heat Pump Association strengthens the support available to MCS certified installers. It opens direct access to valuable insights, policy updates, and a platform to share their expertise. Our installers are central to scaling up low-carbon heating in the UK, and this free membership offer ensures they are better connected and informed”
