Entropica Ltd

The company is a startup developing a novel “storage heat pump” system built around a heat battery. Rather than reducing running costs solely through high efficiency, which can be expensive to achieve, the system reduces costs through flexibility—operating when electricity is at its cheapest.

The technology is also multi-source. In addition to traditional air-source units, the company is developing a range of heat collectors, including novel air-source form factors, greywater heat recovery, and compute thermal modules.

Initial development is focused on a version designed for the social housing market, addressing multiple challenges such as minimising in-home disturbance when upgrading from gas. As the system integrates a low-cost alternative to a domestic hot water tank, it reduces the need for in-home work by allowing equipment to be located in a nearby plant room or garage.

The company is currently progressing through a pre-seed funding round, expected to close in early 2026. This investment will enable acceleration towards field testing in mid-2026 and the launch of a market-ready product in 2027.
